There is much more to a rewarding career than the salary, of course, and prospective students would be advised to take other factors into consideration, not least their interest in a particular field and their aptitude for it. While overall growth is expected to be 7.4% between 20, some well rewarded professions are expected to have much faster growth, such as physician assistants, with expected growth of 37% and average mid-career salary of $104,860, nurse practitioners (36% and $103,880), statisticians (34% and $84,060) and software developers (31% and $101,790).
